Tao Te Ching • Chapter 7

1.1 The Tao of Heaven is eternal,

1.2 and the earth is long enduring.

1.3 Why are they long enduring?

1.4 They do not live for themselves;

1.5 thus they are present for all beings.

2.1 The Master puts herself last;

2.2 And finds herself in the place of authority.

2.3 She detaches herself from all things;

2.4 Therefore she is united with all things.

2.5 She gives no thought to self.

2.6 She is perfectly fulfilled.
